Daredevil Killed in Bravado Backfire

 Todd goes for the stunt
Todd falls down

A stunt wing-walker died after falling 200 feet while attempting to move from a plane to a helicopter at an air show in the US state of Michigan. Todd Green was attempting to move from a Stearman aircraft at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, in Harrison Township when he fell.
An ambulance rushed him to Mount Clemens Regional Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Spectators at the show on Sunday thought that the fall was a part of his stunt, until an announcer said something had gone wrong, according to Macomb Daily.
US politician Candice Miller was also watching the show. According to him,
It takes a moment to realize what just happened. I know he was a part of this big show and many people came to see him performing breathtaking stunts.
According to Silver Wings wing-walking team website, Green was the son of prominent aerial stuntman Eddie Green.
The website states ,
Green continues his father's tradition.
Green is survived by his wife, son and stepson.
The accident comes close on the heels of the death of the Read Arrows pilot John Egging after his aircraft crashed following an airshow in Bournemouth, England, on Saturday.
In another instance, stunt pilot Bryan Jensen was killed after his biplane spiraled into the ground at an airshow in Kansas City, US.
HUH!!NOW SKY ISN'T SAFE!!! DEADLY STUNTS MAKE YOU FAMOUS BUT SOMETIMES THEY MAKE YOU DEAD. STAY SAFE, DON'T TRY THIS!!!

The Great Wall of India: A Tribute

Rahul Dravid .....The Great Wall of India.....one of the greatest batsman Indian Cricket Team has seen over the years. None can be compared to his temperament and fitness. The humble man who hails from Karnataka has made his presence felt over the world with his superb technique and excellent stroke play.
Playing since 1996 Dravid has never looked back. The cool batsman made his debut against English. Though he wasn't successful there but he came to limelight when he scored his first test century against South Africa in 1997. He successfully played the fast bowlers like Allen Donald and Shaun Pollock and since then THE WALL has been rock solid. Be it any team Dravid has shown his resilience against every bowler. With 35 test tons now as he surpassed Sunil Gavaskar on Sunday against England the batsman has fought hard. He has saved India many a times from some really tricky situations. What makes him a LEGEND is his love and confidence towards his game. He was made the captain of Indian Team in 2005. He has received many awards like Wisden, ICC awards and many others.
Who can forget his 270 against Pakistan? Who can forget his partnership with VVS Laxman that won India a lost match? Who can forget his match saving innings in Sri Lanka?
And now who can forget England Tour of 2011....though Indians have lost the series but then also Dravid stood his ground and nearly scored 500 runs. None can underestimate this talented cricketer.
He has been criticized for playing slow but I ask you isn't he a match saviour ? What happens if he has faced 30000 balls in test cricket but he has scored 12,500 runs.
Rahul you are one of the batting greats....I hail you for your excellent contribution to our nation.....Thank YOU RAHUL DRAVID.

Has Indian Cricket Team's Downfall Started ?

CRICKET.........A sport which is followed like a religion in India. This thought is justified as over the years Indian Cricket Team has proved its mantle in the international arena. Winning three World Cups, becoming No. 1 in Test Cricket and becoming the best cricket team in the world. But off late we have been forced to change our thinking about this team. The question is that whether this team deserves to be No. 1 or not ? Getting to the top is difficult but consistently maintaining that position is more difficult. Is this the team that won 2011 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ? India's recent shameful loss to England has raised many eyebrows.
What are the Causes for such a hopeless performance ?
  • Injuries to key players like Zaheer Khan, Bhajji and Sehwag.
  • Indian Premier League fatigue
  • Batsman cannot play on fast bouncy pitches
  • Weak bench strength
  • Poor captaincy
  • Its just an outstanding team which had a bad month in England
The causes may be many. But we can only blame the BCCI or the players. Every cricket expert is blaming IPL as the reason for India's disastrous performance because many key players were injured during the league.
MS Dhoni, the Indian skipper has been lashed for taking nasty decisions during these test matches. He is also being scrutinized for his poor batting form. Many believe that the darkest patch of his career is round the corner and he may have to fight like a true warrior.
In this series India haven't just bowled well but their batting line up which is believed to be one of the best till date misfired. No batsman except Dravid could bat up to his potential.
The bowling line up which is good enough to get any team out couldn't bowl the right length.
What can be done now?
  • Forget this series
  • Batsman have to perform well
  • Improve bench strength
  • Field well(many dropped catches)
  • Win the Australian series and shut the critics up
Well the main question is that can this team be the best in the world ? Can they fightback ? Do they still they have the winning element in them?

STOP PIRACY

As per a Nasscom survey, during the previous year, piracy increased by 2% from 61%, and losses due to software piracy were close to Rs. 1,100 crore. Every year, piracy accounts for billions of dollars worth of revenue losses for software vendors like Microsoft and Adobe. No matter who the perpetrators of piracy are, it is causing the cash reserves of software vendors to dwindle by the day.
Despite possessing the purchasing power, consumers in India lack the maturity to buy software from legal sources. This is mainly because Indians have seen a sudden flood of software in the country but have no clue about its origin. In developed nations, companies make the extra effort of creating awareness about the development stages and resources of software products. In return, consumers are more than willing to pay for the value of the product.
Also, the channels for facilitating the purchase of software are not conductive to legal purchase. For example, if an end user is able to buy a software worth a mere couple of dollars like Win Zip as easily as a piece of hardware, the end user is more likely to develop such habit of buying. What actually happens is that because it is available almost for free ( as part of the package when buying the hardware), the software is taken for granted. Soon, using pirated versions of software becomes a habit.
People in India don't like to pay for the software because it is available with the hardware they purchase. All that we can do is mail legal notices and educate both the end users and retailers against using them.
For Nasscom, bringing down the level of piracy has been a daunting, almost unachievable task, in the last few years. According to their estimates, more than seven in ten businesses, software applications are pirated, a common scene in developing nations.
Thus the concept of buying software has never existed in Indian consumer. People still want the software free or at almost minimal cost.
Another factor detrimental to purchase of genuine software is the high initial cost of software and the fact that newer versions keep appearing every now and then. But price should not be an issue if one looks at the purchase as a long-term investment. Besides, up-gradation requires a much smaller amount to be shelled out. Price becomes an issue only when you consider the usage of the product. According to Adobe, people pay next to nothing for a pirated version of Adobe software and make huge returns especially in the print and advertising media. For Adobe, a large pool of revenues comes from people wanting to continually upgrade.
Piracy is the biggest competition of software companies in India. They support people, and give them valid reasons for buying legalized copies of products. As far as the prices are concerned, they also give people choices on their purchases like individual boxes or elements or a collection, based on their requirements.
At Adobe the rate of piracy is as high as 90%, which means for every ten users of Adobe products, nine use pirated versions.
Levels of piracy will remain where they are or decline if at all, only slightly, for the next few years. But in the initial stages, consumers in India should acquire the habit of purchasing software. Given that price is a major determinant, companies should be able to provide users with more choices, and buyers in turn should be willing to make the purchase.
STOP PIRACY!!!

PROGRAMMING METHODOLOGY

The first step a programmer performs is Defining a Problem. This step is absolutely necessary for creating a workable solution. Before working on a project the programmer should understand carefully what the user wants to do.
Next you must learn to Outline the Solution. A program performs multiple tasks. A program is composed of many different modules. Thus you need to specify both the responsibilities of each task and how these individual tasks iterate and interact. So, it has to be ensured that the pieces being developed separately are integrated into the whole system.
Now we are over with the primitive work of problem solving. The third step involves representing the problem in algorithmic way which is designed by the programmer. As this step describes the details of the proposed problem and its solution, this is a major step towards fully functional programming.
After defining the algorithms we need to Code the process. Before coding the process, the programmer has to choose a computer language.
Maintaining your program is very important. Since the programs are not static in nature and they frequently become outdated as errors are discovered, new problems need to be solved, reviews are needed when new equipment becomes available. Thus one programmer may develop the program whereas other may modify it.
To ease the modification process a program must be well written, should be clear and systematic.
Next comes Debugging where programmer has to locate and correct all the errors in the given program.
Testing and Validation is the most important step because the whole program is useless until it produces a correct result. The programmer must check that the program provides correct output for all the inputs by the user.
Last in this post we will discuss about Modular Programming. It refers to a technique in which the logical parts of a problem are divided into a series of individual routines so that each may be programmed independently.
